Sensei Kanoi Watanabe is a key character in the Power Rangers Ninja Storm season. He is the sensei of the Wind Ninja Academy and father to Cam Watanabe, the future Green Samurai Ranger.

Once a skilled ninja himself, Sensei Watanabe was transformed into a guinea pig during Lothor's attack on the Wind Ninja Academy. This transformation rendered him unable to directly fight Lothor's forces, but it allowed him to guide and train the remaining ninja students: Shane Clarke, Tori Hanson, and Dustin Brooks, who would become the Wind Rangers.

As a mentor, Sensei Watanabe provided the Rangers with guidance, strategies, and new powers. His knowledge of ninja arts and Lothor's tactics was crucial to the Rangers' success. Although physically limited, his wisdom and quick thinking often saved the day.

Throughout the series, Sensei Watanabe worked tirelessly to protect his students and find a way to reverse his transformation. He represents wisdom, resilience, and the enduring power of mentorship in the face of adversity. His transformation is eventually reversed through the power of the Samurai Amulet.
